From 4 October 2021, FTI will be offering exclusive connections with partner SmartLynx Airlines from Berlin to the Dubai. To kick off the flight programme, there will be two weekly flights to the glittering metropolis. The World Expo will start there on 1 October 2021. 

Munich, 26. August 2021 - Off to Dubai: The United Arab Emirates have been one of the most sought-after holiday destinations worldwide for months. Just in time for EXPO, which starts on 1 October 2021 in Dubai and presents exciting installations and projects for six months, the tour operator is expanding its flight options. From 4 October, FTI guests will be able to jet exclusively from Berlin non-stop to Dubai every Monday and Thursday. For the high season from the Christmas holidays onwards, the Orient expert is even adding another departure day on Saturdays from 18 December 2021. This means that Berlin will then be connected to the city of superlatives three times a week, which in turn creates a lot of freedom for planning the duration of the holiday. "With the SmartLynx flights, we are closing a connectivity gap," holds FTI Group CEO Ralph Schiller. "In addition to the daily flight offers from our partners such as Emirates from Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg, we are thus also providing the catchment areas of Berlin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony with a conveniently accessible option for the start of an Oriental holiday."

First exclusive cooperation between FTI GROUP and holiday airline SmartLynx

With the flight programme from Berlin to Dubai, FTI is entering into its first exclusive cooperation with SmartLynx Airlines. Founded in 1992 as LatCharter, the Latvian airline has been operating under its current name since 2008 and has a fleet of 15 Airbus A320s, seven Airbus A321s and five Airbus A330s. "We are very pleased to be working with FTI GROUP and bringing our joint guests literally closer to their holidays," says SmartLynx CEO Zygimantas Surintas. "As an EU airline, SmartLynx meets the international quality standards IOSA and EASA. On our flights from Berlin to Dubai, our service, the announcements and the safety instructions on board are of course in German. This allows our guests to fully enjoy the flight without any possible language barriers." SmartLynx operates the route to the Orient with an Airbus A321. The outward flight takes off late in the evening, so that the first day of the holiday is fully available on arrival the following morning. The service spectrum of the line includes, among other things, the option of prior seat reservation and online check-in, and in addition to XL seats, Comfort Seats including free middle seats for even more space can also be booked with this special FTI partnership. Passengers are treated to a selection of on-board menus, snacks and drinks for a fee on the seven-hour flight.

EXPO2020 in Dubai: World exhibition under the sign of sustainability and mobility

The major event, which had to be postponed by a year due to Corona, but retains its original title, will run under the motto "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" and will start on 1 October 2021.

193 countries will exhibit at EXPO2020 on the site, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the DWC airport. There will be around 60 live events every day, and over 200 restaurants, bars and stands from a wide range of nations will pave the way for culinary discovery tours. Admission tickets can be booked directly with FTI in advance, and hotel packages including tickets are also available in some cases. But it is not only the World Expo that will delight visitors with its spectacular attractions, Dubai itself also has a number of innovations up its sleeve for its guests: the highlights include the Museum of the Future, which is already astonishing with its oval-shaped architecture, the world's largest Ferris wheel Ain Dubai, which is expected to open in September 2021, or the Sky Walk as an extraordinary viewing platform between the Address Sky View Towers.
