SmartLynx Airlines reports a stable growth in 2023

In 2023, SmartLynx Airlines, a globally acknowledged ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance), freight, and charter service provider continued its solid growth in operations, resulting in a consolidated net turnover of 496,6 million euros, up 42% year over year and recorded an EBITDA of 118 million euros. The group's net profit increased 2.5 times, reaching 22,7 million euros.  

Edvinas Demenius, CEO of SmartLynx Airlines: "Last year was a strong yet challenging year for SmartLynx. We grew our fleet and crew significantly while entering new markets and developing partnerships with new clients. We have a lot of work to do, but we are on a good path to further strengthen our positions and abilities globally. I want to highlight our whole team's efforts – Crew and Office, for their key role in securing last year's achievements." 

In 2023, SmartLynx increased the fleet to 65 aircraft consisting of Airbus A320, A321, A321F, A330, and Boeing 737 aircraft registered under the Latvian, Estonian and Maltese AOCs registry. In the reporting period, aircraft were based and operated in both Europe and non-Europe countries like Latvia, Estonia, Belgium, Malta, USA, UK, Germany, Canada, India, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Sweden, and Saudi Arabia.  

Amongst the airline's key clients in 2023 were India's largest airline, IndiGo, Turkish Airlines subsidiary Anadolu Jet (now Ajet), TUI, AirTransat, Panorama Airways, and DHL.  

SmartLynx Airlines is part of Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider. Headquartered in Ireland, operating a fleet of 213 aircraft. The Group provides a range of aviation services, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling and various related services. 

Looking ahead to 2024, SmartLynx Airlines is strategically focusing on improving its fleet's technical capabilities and overall efficiency. The company is actively expanding the use of its cargo fleet, targeting new markets in the Middle East and Latin America, and exploring diverse partnership models. The airline plans to grow its ACMI capacity, focusing on long-term contracts.
