SmartLynx Airlines has successfully passed the international IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) renewal audit.

According to Zygimantas Surintas, SmartLynx CEO, the company's key goal is comfort and safety of its passengers which is why SmartLynx has set the strict quality and security standards to all its services and which are strictly followed. “The renewal of our registration is an excellent assessment of our long-term work.”

In order to be registered under IOSA, an airline must pass the thorough audit which inspects the compliance of the carrier's operations and work processes with the requirements of IATA (The International Aviation Transport Association). The audit is conducted by the IATA-accredited auditor.

The audit focuses on eight large categories: organization and management system, flight operations, cabin operations, operational control and flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, ground handling operations, cargo operations and security management. In each of the categories, the auditor reviews documentation and assesses implementation.

The same standards apply to the airline cooperation partners and services they provide; therefore, those are also inspected. The severity and comprehensive nature of the audit is proven by the fact that there are more than 900 standards and recommended practices. IOSA Registration is valid for two years.

The audit has been conducted by the IATA-accredited German audit organization Aviation Quality Services GmbH that is one of only six companies in the world duly qualified and accredited by the IATA to conduct such an audit.

The IOSA Registration has been renewed for SmartLynx Airlines which is based in Riga, Latvia; its subsidiary SmartLynx Airlines Estonia has the IOSA Registration still valid until October 2018.
